Bob Waters

Across America people who love Old Time Music enjoy playing that music as often as they can -- not by radio or music players, but with instruments and voices in song. Bob Waters was among those Americans who helped keep Old Time Music (AKA "country music") in our awareness.

This website gives access to over 100 recordings that Bob did of his favorite country music songs. His son accompanied him on many of them. Some of the songs are recorded more than once. We hope this archive of Bob's music helps continue what he inspired all of us to do: make music and help keep traditional Country Music pure and true to its roots.

Bob Waters was born in Brooker, Florida, located in Bradford County, on January 8, 1928. He began playing music as a child and excelled on the fiddle, which he learned to tune from Chubby Wise -- an area musician who was one of Bob's earliest mentors. Bob also played the six string guitar, the bass guitar, and the harmonica.
